The ASTRA 1L satellite is located at 19.2° East, ASTRA’s prime orbital position for Direct-to-Home services, providing capacity mainly for the transmission of broadcast services to consumer audiences in continental Europe. ASTRA 1L will also extend ASTRA’s Ka-band capabilities - currently available only via ASTRA 1H - with a secondary, Ka-band payload. ASTRA 1L guarantees continuity for the ASTRA fleet at 19.2° East, and will replace ASTRA 1E when that satellite approaches its end of life.

ATLANTIC BIRD™ 4A provides high-power Ku-band coverage of the Middle East, the Gulf countries and North Africa. The satellite, recently launched as Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ 10 satellite, is initially being commercialised at the 7 degrees West orbital position under the name ATLANTIC BIRD™ 4A.

The Hispasat 1D satellite is located within the 30º West orbital window. It incorporates 28 Ku-band transponders to the HISPASAT satellite system. Its fundamental objective is to maintain the civil missions (in the Ku-band) offered through the 1A and 1B satellites located at 30º West, running and by doing so, maintaining the services offered to existing clients.

Under the cooperation agreement with the Russian state satellite operator RSCC, Romantis GmbH offers the customized package combining the new IP based unified satellite communication hardware platform (EASTAR™ UHP-1000), produced by Romantis and satellite capacity on Express-AM44 satellite. Such packages include “turn-key” solutions for corporate networks, broadband access, GSM backhaul and etc.

With a launch mass of 4.9 tonnes HOT BIRD™ 8 is the largest and most powerful broadcast satellite serving Europe. Designed for television and radio broadcasting, the satellite has 64 Ku-band transponders which span the entire range of frequencies used at Eutelsat's HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood.

(Oslo December 15, 2009) Telenor Satellite Broadcasting AS (TSBc) today announced that THOR 6 has completed all necessary in orbit and ground related testing for the THOR 6 spacecraft and will commence commercial service in late December.

HOT BIRD™ 9 will help further advance the development of digital and high-definition TV. As is the case of all Eutelsat's broadcasting satellites, viewers will be able to watch the HOT BIRD™ 9 TV channels via a simple receive-only dish. ASTRA 1G is located at 31.5° east, providing capacity mainly for the transmission of broadcast and broadband multimedia services to consumer audiences.

ASTRA 3B provides distribution of DTH and DTC broadcast services, and also hosts high-speed internet access platform ASTRA2Connect. The satellite offers coverage of Europe and the Middle East with 60 Ku-band and 4 Ka-band transponders. ASTRA 3B is located at 23.5°E, ASTRA's third prime orbital position.

EUROBIRD™ 9A has been deployed to 9 degrees East. Formerly HOT BIRD™ 7A, the rebranded satellite is joining Eutelsat's newest video neighbourhood, almost doubling the number of operational transponders. Adjacent to Eutelsat’s premium HOT BIRD™ position, reception of channels from both locations is possible with off-the-shelf dual-feed domestic dishes.

Located at 36 degrees East, W4 provides high-power coverage for Eastern Europe and Africa for services including television, radio, multimedia and Internet access.

Telstar 12 is a Ku-band satellite with coverage of North America as far West as Cleveland, Ohio; the majority of South America; Europe as far East as the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.Telstar 12 also has the capability to provide intercontinental connectivity including trans-Atlantic to the Mid-East.

Telenor announced in April 2007 that it has signed a contract with Thales Alenia Space for the construction and delivery of a new geosynchronous (GEO) communications satellite. The new satellite, to be called Thor 6, will provide high power direct-to-home (DTH) television services from the 1° West orbital position.

TÜRKSAT-2A was launched on 10 January 2001 with Ariane 4 rocket and started service in February 2001. Serving at the same location with TÜRKSAT-3A on 42° East longitude, with an EIRP (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power) of more than 50 dBW within a broad coverage area, TÜRKSAT-2A satellite can offer services to a vast geography including Europe and Central Asia, Middle East and Russia.

Israeli commercial communication satellite, part of the AMOS series of satellites. The satellite was positioned at 4° W longitude in the geo-stationary orbit. it was launched at December 27, 2003 from Baikonur, Kazakhstan and it serves clients in three service regions: Middle East (including Israel), Europe and eastern coast of USA.

Serving at the position of 42° East, TÜRKSAT-3A is fitted with 24 Ku-band transponders of 120 Watt and has a total usage capacity of 1296 MHz. It has a vast coverage area including Turkey as well as entire Europe, North Africa and all Turkish Republics, extending to the Chinese border.

ASTRA 1KR is an all Ku-band spacecraft that provides distribution of direct-to-home broadcast services across Europe. It is equipped with 32 active transponders, which will be reduced to 28 active transponders after the first 5 years. The satellite is located at 19.2° east, ASTRA’s prime orbital position for DTH services.

ASTRA 2B is located at 28.2° east, ASTRA’s prime orbital position for direct-to-home services in the UK and Ireland, providing capacity mainly for the transmission of broadcast and broadband multimedia services to consumer audiences.

Badr-5 (technically Arabsat-5B), a Eurostar-3000 model, will have a launch mass of 5,400 Kgs and a spacecraft power of 14kW at the end of its 15-year service lifetime. Equipped with a payload featuring 56 active transponders in Ku-band and Ka-band, Badr-5 will primarily provide full in-orbit back-up capacity both for Badr-4 and Badr-6. Co-located with the rest of Arabsat's Badr constellation of Direct-To-Home satellites at its 26° East video "hot-spot", it will guarantee to its broadcasting customers a unique "hot" redundancy, the highest level ever in the region. Complementary missions include supporting the expected boom of HD-TV and, thanks to its Ka-band capacity, the development of sophisticated interactive services.

EUROBIRD™ 16 (formerly HOT BIRD™ 4) provides high-power Ku-band coverage of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean Islands. With twelve channels operating within a broad Widebeam coverage and a high-power Steerable beam coverage, EUROBIRD™ 16 was designed from the outset for consumer broadcasting, enabling Direct-to-Home (DTH) reception of digital services with domestic antennas, from 16 degrees East.

The SESAT satellites (Siberia - Europe Satellites) provide a wide range of telecommunications services over a very large geographical coverage area that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to Eastern Russia, including a large part of Siberia. The satellites also provide broadcasting services to Africa by means of steerable spotbeams.

Eutelsat’s new W2A satellite replaces the W1 satellite at 10 degrees East, one of Eutelsat’s long-standing orbital locations and a key position for data and professional video networks. Services have been continuously provided at this location since 1987. W2A more than doubles the amount of Ku-band capacity available at 10 degrees East, while also boosting C-band capacity available through Eutelsat’s fleet for services across Africa.

W2M was deployed at the beginning of January 2010 to 16° East in order to enter commercial service. It has been co-located with the EUROBIRD™ 16 and SESAT 1 satellites to provide continuity of services at one of Eutelsat's most long-standing orbital positions, which was previously home to the W2 satellite.

Located at 21.5° East, W6 (formerly W3) is ideal for companies needing to communicate between Europe, North Africa, the Sahara, the Middle East and the Gulf region. Fine-tuned for professional communications, the satellite is perfect for applications such as VSAT networks, broadband Internet and data broadcasting.

Co-positioned with the W4 satellite at 36 degrees East, W7 replaces the SESAT 1 satellite. 36 degrees East has become a key orbital location for TV broadcasting in Russia, the CIS, Central Asia and Africa, with more than 450 TV channels broadcast to those regions as of late 2009.

It is one of the Nilesat’s second generation satellites. It is manufactured by Thales Alenia Space Company. It was launched by Ariane 5 Rocket in 4th of August 2010. Nilesat 201 will replace Nilesat 101 which is expected to terminate its mission in 2013.

NSS-12 is the first satellite contract that SES NEW SKIES has awarded to SS/L. The spacecraft is a state-of-the-art, hybrid C- and Ku-band satellite that will be located at 57º East Longitude over the Indian Ocean Region. Based on SS/L's highly reliable and space-proven LS-1300 spacecraft, it will be equipped with 40 C-band and 48 Ku-band active high-power transponders (36 MHz equivalents) to help maintain and increase the capability of the company's worldwide satellite communications network.

NSS-7 is a powerful Ku- and C-band satellite. It is the leading satellite for transatlantic video traffic and the primary satellite for video distribution across the whole of Africa, with the potential to reach 58 million homes and 82 million people in 40 African nations. It is also capable of reaching the entire European sub-continent as far west as Moscow, south throughout the Black Sea region and all of Mediterranean North Africa.

Based on the flight proven Spacebus-4000B3 platform, the RASCOM-QAF 1 high performance, high capacity satellite will provide a pan-African coverage with multiple spot beams based on 12 Ku and 8 C bands transponders. The system's ground networks will include gateway Earth stations and low-cost, solar powered rural terminals.

ASTRA 4A is a multi-mission Ku/Ka-band satellite located at 5° East. It offers services for direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting, cable TV feeds, occasional transmissions and broadband solutions. This satellite provides services to the Nordic, Baltic and eastern European markets, and also provides coverage of sub-Saharan Africa.
